Overview

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) is a key initiative designed to attract skilled workers, professionals, entrepreneurs and their families to Alberta, Canada. Upon meeting this and other mandatory eligibility criteria, applicants can obtain a provincial nomination to apply for permanent residence.
Alberta Express Entry Stream: This stream allows the provincial authorities to select and nominate candidates from the federal Express Entry pool who meet Alberta’s labour market needs in addition to other eligibility criteria. It is a fast-track option for skilled workers looking to immigrate to Alberta.

Dedicated Health Care Pathway

Candidates must have a job offer from an Alberta employer in the health care sector and be licensed to practice in one of the eligible health care professions.

Accelerated Tech Pathway

Candidates must have a valid job offer from, or be currently employed by, an Alberta-based employer in an eligible tech occupation.

Law Enforcement Pathway

Candidates must have a valid job offer from an Alberta Association of Chiefs of Police member in one of the eligible police services occupations.

3. Rural Renewal Stream: Focused on addressing labour shortages in rural areas, this stream promotes economic immigration to smaller communities in Alberta. Applicants must obtain a job offer from an employer in a rural community in addition to meeting other mandatory eligibility criteria to be nominated for permanent residence.

4. Tourism and Hospitality Stream: This stream is designed for temporary foreign workers who are currently employed full-time in Alberta’s tourism and hospitality sector. To be nominated for Permanent Residence, these workers must have a full-time job offer from a qualifying Alberta employer in an eligible occupation within the industry.
